Remote Assistant Manager, Social Media (adidas Basketball)

Job Overview: Join the adidas team remotely as an Assistant Manager for Social Media, where you’ll manage and drive the adidas message across social media platforms. In this remote role, you will create dynamic, engaging content for adidas’ Basketball segment, while showcasing our products, athletes, and experiences. Your focus will be on developing social-first content that resonates with our global consumer base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the social media calendar for adidas’ global social channels, with a primary focus on Basketball.
  • Manage and moderate adidas’ social communities, ensuring consistent brand messaging.
  • Provide analytical reporting to make real-time content recommendations and enhance social engagement.
  • Implement and execute social media strategies that align with key campaigns, brand moments, and consumer touchpoints.
  • Publish real-time, reactive moments, keeping content aligned with brand voice.
  • Collaborate with the @adidas team on content planning and publishing across various US sports channels, including American Football, Baseball, and global events like the World Cup 2026.
  • Contribute to content ideation, creation, and editing for key campaigns and reactive moments.
  • Leverage mobile devices to capture and edit content for social channels.
  • Ensure that all content is tagged and tracked for measurement and advanced analytics.
  • Educate team members on the latest social media trends and best practices.
  • Monitor platform trends and consumer behavior, integrating insights into digital content strategies.

Key Relationships:

  • Collaborate with the Basketball & US Sports category teams.
  • Work closely with Global Social Media, Sports Marketing, Digital Activation, and External Agencies.
  • Maintain effective communication with the eCommerce paid social team and MediaCom.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Creative, collaborative, and confident approach to social media.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of social media landscapes, both organic and paid (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
  • Experience creating content at major sports and fashion events.
  • Passion for sports, fashion, and entertainment.
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple social projects simultaneously.
  • Social editing, copywriting, and storytelling expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital, Retail, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
